How commercial solar cuts Scope 2 emissions
Scope 2 emissions are those created by the electricity your business buys from the grid. They are usually the easiest emissions category to reduce, because on-site solar generation replaces purchased grid electricity directly. A commercial solar PV system designed through our design and installation service typically supplies 30 to 60 percent of a sites annual electricity demand, and adding a battery energy storage system pushes self-consumption higher still by storing daytime generation for evening and overnight use. If you already have solar panels, a BESS retrofit delivers the same benefit without touching your existing array.

ESG reporting: what solar contributes to SECR and ESOS
For larger UK companies, on-site solar strengthens mandatory reporting rather than just marketing claims. Under SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting), self-generated renewable electricity reduces your reported location-based Scope 2 figure and demonstrates year-on-year progress. For ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme), solar PV is one of the most commonly recommended audit actions, and installing it turns a compliance obligation into a cost saving.
