Field scale
Rows aimed exactly where the sun is.
No compromise with the building’s geometry: ground-mount rows face due south at the pitch that maximises annual yield, with spacing designed so rows never shade each other. The result is more energy per panel than most roofs can deliver.
What we deliver
From a spare field to a solar farm.
Farm and estate arrays.
Field-scale systems behind the meter — powering dairies, grain stores, irrigation and cold storage directly, with grazing preserved between the rows.
Commercial ground mount.
For sites where the roof can’t carry the load the business needs — car parks, yards and spare land turned into generation, connected into the same system as rooftop and storage.
Solar farms.
Multi-megawatt export sites: feasibility, planning, grid application, construction and operation — one accountable team from first survey to energisation.
Grid connection refused or constrained? Ground mount pairs naturally with storage — see off-grid and hybrid options.
Questions
The questions asked before going ground-mounted.
When does ground-mounted solar beat a rooftop system?
When the roof is the constraint — too small, too old, wrong orientation, or already full. Ground mount frees the design from the building: rows can face due south at the ideal pitch, and the array scales with your land rather than your roofline.
How much land does a ground-mounted system need?
A few acres per megawatt, depending on panel density, row spacing and layout. We design around field boundaries, access and shading — a feasibility survey tells you exactly what your land can carry.
Do ground-mounted systems need planning permission?
Usually, above modest sizes — unlike most commercial rooftop installs. We handle the planning application as part of the project, including the assessments planners ask for.
Can farmland still be used around the array?
Often, yes — sheep grazing between and beneath rows is common, and layouts can preserve field access. The land keeps working while it generates.
See what your land could generate.
Tell us the site and roughly how much land you have — we'll model yield, connection options and payback, and are honest if the numbers don't stack up.
